Goldcorp: Land lease for nothing

The Canadian mining company Goldcorp. operates a gold mining site in Peñasquito, Mexico. Farmers claim that they have been paid a bargain by Goldcorp. for the lease of their land. They gave the land for a period of 30 years to the company and were once paid 1 peso per square meter (0,00744 USD). Another mine, Camino Rojo” is situated on land for which the company paid 4,35 pesos.   ... →
