Greenpeace Report: Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil standards are not enough to stop forest destruction

In a new report, Greenpeace states that the RSPO’s standards are not sufficient to stop deforestation. The Report identifies the RSPO’s weaknesses such as its inability to prevent peatland and forest fires, to prohibit forest conversion, or its failure to act on breaches of its standards. The report calls on consumer companies to go beyond the RSPO’s standards in order to be able to break the link between palm oil and deforestation and to clean up their supply chains.
