Human Rights Violations in Sierra Leone

African Minerals Ltd. runs an iron ore mine at Bumbuna in Sierra Leone.
On April 16, 2012, a peaceful strike of workers for increased wages, better working conditions and medical facilities became violent and left one woman shot dead. At least 6 persons were injured and 26 people arrested.
