Hyundai Motor Group: High rate of occupational accidents and fatalities

Industrial accidents in South Korea are a concern, and Hyundai sites have a particularly bad record. Since 2012, 10 people have died at Hyundai’s steel plant in Dangjin. According to RepRisk, the Korean Ministry of Labour and Employment lists Hyundai Motor´s Ulsan Plant “as the site with the highest number of occupational incidents in South Korea”. At a Kia Motor plant 431 injuries and 1 death were reported between 2012 and 20131.
