Goldcorp: Mining in Mexico

In Mexico, the El Filo mine operations (gold, silver, zinc and copper) had to be halted for one month as local landowners held an indefinite strike outside the mine due to environmental and health damages and low rental prices.1 The suspension of the mining activities was lifted after the company promised to implement measures against the harmful impacts of its operations.2
