The Earth Focus Foundation ranked Gazprom seventh in its “top 20 carbon emitters” list which evaluated the carbon output of 347 companies worldwide1 2. According to the study, (“Private Sector Scope 1&2 Carbon Emissions”) Gazprom emitted 131.219.300 tons of CO2 in 2010.
The World Meteorological Organization acknowledges man-made climate change and shows that greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere reached record highs in 20133. The 2013 Carbon Majors study puts Gazprom at number five of the 90 companies responsible for nearly two-thirds of the greenhouse gas emissions generated since the dawn of the industrial age4.
