Coal India: Communities face eviction

In August 2014, Amnesty International India reported that around 5,000 people living near the Gevra open cast mine run by South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd., are at risk of being forcibly evicted, including indigenous peoples like the Kawar, Gond and Korwa1.
