Campaign to Ban Killer Robots Launch in London, 23 April 2013

Civil society will lead the way in convincing governments to pre-emptively ban fully autonomous weapons as they would cross moral and legal boundaries, and should be rejected as repugnant to the public conscience. The Campaign to Stop Killer Robots includes several NGOs centrally involved in the successful efforts to ban antipersonnel landmines, cluster munitions, and blinding lasers and is building a network of civil society contacts in countries currently active in Canada, Colombia, Egypt, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, United Kingdom, and the United States.   ... →

… commented the ‘Financial Times Deutschland’ concerning Josef Ackermann’s last general assembly as chief executive of the Deutsche Bank. In regard to this meeting, Facing Finance and other members of the group ‘Andere Banken braucht das Land!’ (We need alternative banks!), presented a critical outcome of Ackermann’s era in the bank.
