Prosperity at the expense of human rights and environment: Launch of Dirty Profits 5 on the 9th February 2017 in Hamburg

Annually, since 2012, Facing Finance has published the Dirty Profits report, which researches human rights abuses, labour violations, environmental destruction, and corruption by multinational companies. The report then illustrates the links between the companies and major financial institutions. It becomes apparent that: The actual business practices of banks fall short of their social and environmental self-commitments.

In cooperation with the Friedrich-Ebert Stiftung the report will be launched on 9 February 2017 in Hamburg. Jens Tönnesmann will moderate a panel discussion about sustainable and responsible banking practices with Thomas Küchenmeister (Facing Finance), Ulrike Brendel (consumer advice center Bremen), Dirk Grah (regional director GLS Bank Hamburg) and Sarah Ryglewski (member of the German parliament).
